For more than 50 years, The Legacy Senior Communities, Inc., has served seniors in North Texas by providing nursing care at the campus of Golden Acres in Dallas, Texas. A 501(c)3 tax exempt charitable organization, The Legacy Senior Communities, Inc., is currently in phase two of a community-wide capital campaign to provide for capital requirements of The Legacy at Willow Bend. The Legacy Senior Communities, Inc., accepts donations and pledges from individuals, families, foundations, and corporations. Naming opportunities at the new community are available for gifts made to the capital campaign that meet certain requirements.
A significant pledge in support of the phase one campaign was announced by the Wolens Foundation at the groundbreaking ceremony in October 2005. Foundation president Joe Milkes presented Michael Ellentuck, president of The Legacy Senior Communities, Inc., with a check for $500,000, the first payment of a $3 million pledge to be used for the development of the community. The 60-bed private suite healthcare center will be named in recognition of this leading pledge. Combined with other pledges and gifts given to support The Legacy's construction, donations now exceed $12 million.
Duke Rudman Family provided the lead gift for the development of The Legacy at Willow Bend. Other gifts include:
- Kalman and Ida Wolens Foundation ($ 3,000,000)
- Greater Dallas Jewish Community Capital Campaign ($ 1,650,000)
- The M.B. Zale Foundation and The Abe Zale Foundation ($800,000)
- Carol and Steve Aaron Family ($500,000)
- Stanley Family Philanthropic Funds ($350,000)
- The Pollock Foundation ($250,000)
Your participation in The Legacy at Willow Bend capital campaign will directly benefit each of the resident members of The Legacy and help support the growing number of seniors living in our community or moving here to be closer to their loved ones.
