New Developments for Dallas Area Seniors
On behalf of the Dallas Home for Jewish Aged Board of Directors and our parent organization, The Legacy Senior Communities, Inc., we are writing to share with you news about two developments in our mission to serve Dallas area seniors.
Sale of Golden Acres
As you know, Golden Acres was founded with support from the Jewish community more than 50 years ago with the specific mission of providing elder health care services to Jewish seniors. Over the decades, Golden Acres has earned a reputation that has attracted seniors of all faiths, and the board is proud that an even broader constituency of seniors and their families now benefits from the care provided by our team of professionals. At the same time, as the population of Golden Acres became more diverse, the board grew to realize that perhaps our original mission for this campus had been fulfilled.
With regard for our history at Golden Acres and an eye toward the future, the board is pleased to announce that we have entered into an agreement to sell Golden Acres to an owner that we believe will continue the charitable mission we have established, honor the customs and traditions of the community, and embrace its diversity. American Healthcare Corporation, based in Philadelphia, is a family-run company with proven experience as an elder health care provider. Under the leadership of owner Stanley Stein, the company operates nursing facilities in New Jersey, Illinois, Alabama, Arkansas, and Pennsylvania. We are pleased to be passing our fine heritage into such capable and responsible hands, and to assure you that the buyer has agreed to continue to offer the Jewish components of service currently available at Golden Acres for a period of time (should Golden Acres residents require these services after that period, we will endeavor to provide them).
We expect the sale to be completed by the end of August. During this time, we are committed to having a smooth transition and seamless continuity of services. As always, our focus will be on our families; and the current management team is pledged to remain at your service throughout the transition. Also, please note that Legacy will continue to manage the Echad Apartments next to Golden Acres.
Purchase of Veranda Preston Hollow
Even as we close one chapter in our history of serving Dallas area seniors, a new one begins that we believe takes our original mission to another level. The board is also excited to share with you that we have entered into an agreement to purchase Veranda Preston Hollow, which should be completed by the end of July.
Though the two transactions are independent of each other, we feel that the timing is ideal. Located at Northaven and North Central Expressway, Veranda offers a new convenience to our seniors and their families. In addition to the skilled nursing services we previously offered at Golden Acres, we will now be able to offer assisted living at Veranda. The assisted living component represents an expansion of services that will fill previously unmet needs of our seniors.
These are exciting announcements, and this is an exciting time for our organization and for our community. We feel strongly that both the sale of Golden Acres and the acquisition of Veranda are directly in keeping with our board's mission to meet the current and future needs of our community, and we look forward to sharing more information with you in the weeks and months ahead.
Sincerely,

Soon-To-Be Legacy at Willow Bend Residents Honored

Thank you, Vin and Lilli, for your inspiration!
