Life care is a program that guarantees the lifetime use of your residence. This means that in addition to the many services and amenities of The Legacy at Willow Bend, you are guaranteed priority access to on-site assisted living, comprehensive skilled nursing care, and memory support care.
Your access to these health care services is funded through the payment of a one-time entrance fee and predictable monthly fees. These services are guaranteed for as long as you reside at The Legacy at Willow Bend. In other words, for life.
As a resident member of The Legacy at Willow Bend, you will live in your well-appointed private residence surrounded by your prized personal possessions. You will be invited to take part in The Legacy's wide variety of social, educational, and recreational activities, if you desire. What's more, you will enjoy the convenience and comfort of many exclusive benefits including personal services, fine dining, resort-style amenities, and much more.
But unlike other retirement lifestyles, yours will include life care, which guarantees health care services - including assisted living, skilled nursing, and memory support - should they ever be needed, for as long as they are needed. At The Legacy, no matter which on-site health services you require, your access is guaranteed.
This comprehensive continuum-care package is your right as a resident member of The Legacy. So you are free to plan and live your life without concern about maintaining a home or facing the decision of where to go for health care services should the need arise. HOW IS A LIFE CARE COMMUNITY DIFFERENT?
Life care is the most comprehensive concept in retirement living available. Consequently, it is a rapidly growing trend in senior living nationwide. Other continuing care retirement communities may offer an independent lifestyle and amenities, but they typically provide health care at only a slightly discounted rate or on a fee-for-service basis. With life care, you have specifically defined financial responsibilities by the sponsors and a more stabilized annual rate.
WHAT IS AN ENTRANCE FEE?
Your entrance fee is a one-time payment based on the floor plan of your residence. This fee is 90 percent refundable to you or your estate if you leave The Legacy for any reason. The fee provides for lifetime use of your residence and guaranteed priority access to all on-site health care services.
WHAT IS THE MONTHLY FEE?
The monthly fee is an all-inclusive charge that is determined by the size of your residence and the number of occupants. A portion of this fee covers the shared costs of the community, allocated across all residences. This fee also covers a variety of services and amenities that enhance your life at The Legacy, including your meals, interior and exterior maintenance, housekeeping, scheduled transportation, concierge services, activities, events, and much more. In addition, the monthly fee helps cover the life care benefits of health care services if needed.
WHAT IF I RUN OUT OF MONEY?
Life care at The Legacy lasts for a lifetime. If you outlive your resources for reasons beyond your control and are unable to pay your monthly fee, you will still have priority access to on-site health care services, which will be funded by the refundable portion of your entrance fee. With life care at The Legacy, you are protected for life.
HOW CAN LIFE CARE AND LONG-TERM CARE INSURANCE WORK TOGETHER?
If you have a long-term care insurance policy, you may be eligible to receive benefits from that policy for assisted living or comprehensive skilled nursing care.
Your policy will most likely work hand-in-hand with life care and pay earned benefits directly to you. Naturally, you should consult your insurance carrier or agent for specific answers about your policy.
