DALLAS, TX (June 20, 2006) -- Donors of Dallas Jewish Community Foundation enjoyed an evening of art and entertainment at "The Art of Living" party held at the Information Center of The Legacy at Willow Bend.
On display were 26 lithographs from the Salvador Dali Aliyah Collection, which were donated to the community by Howard and Lois Wolf in memory of Rae Casper. Works by local artists Artyce Cohen, Ruth Forbes Litwin, and Blanche Raphael Weinberger, who are future residents of The Legacy; and sculptures by George Tobolowsky, who serves on the board of The Legacy Senior Communities, Inc., parent company of The Legacy at Willow Bend, were also on exhibit.
Highlighting the evening was a major announcement by Stuart Morse, chairperson of Dallas Home for the Jewish Aged Endowment Foundation. In his remarks, Mr. Morse revealed that Dallas Home for the Jewish Aged is moving its endowment fund to Dallas Jewish Community Foundation. It will become one of the largest funds managed by Dallas Jewish Community Foundation, which has a $130,000,000 portfolio of total assets under management. The Legacy at Willow Bend and Golden Acres are benefactors of the Dallas Home for the Jewish Aged Endowment Fund.

Groundbreaking for the community was celebrated in October, 2005, and construction is scheduled for completion in 2007. The Legacy at Willow Bend will be comprised of 103 independent living apartment homes; 16 custom independent living villas; 40 assisted living apartment homes, 18 memory support suites, and 60 private skilled healthcare suites specializing in short-term rehabilitation services.
