The Legacy Senior Communities, Inc. Announces New Executive Director

Industry Veteran Lana Tapped to Head Dallas-Area Retirement Communities
DALLAS, TX (September 6, 2007) - The Legacy Senior Communities, Inc., has appointed a new executive director to manage their retirement community in North Texas. Lana VanGiesen is the new executive director at The Legacy at Willow Bend in Plano. The announcement was made by Mr. Michael Ellentuck, President of The Legacy Senior Communities, Inc
Prior to joining The Legacy at Willow Bend, Ms. VanGiesen served as former executive director of Town Village Retirement Community in Dallas. During her three-year tenure there, she increased occupancy to nearly 100 percent and developed a Wellness Center for the community.
"I am happy to be the newest member of The Legacy team," said Ms. VanGiesen. "I love the senior community and have adored dedicating my career to their cares and needs. I am very excited and honored to assist in writing the first chapters for The Legacy at Willow Bend, and I am eager to get started."
About Lana VanGiesen
Ms. VanGiesen holds Assisted Living Managers Certification and Nursing Home Administrators License, and is a renowned Retirement Housing Professional with the American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging.
In 1989, Ms. VanGiesen became assistant executive director for Gambrill Gardens in St. Louis and chaired the EAGLE committee which led to national accreditation for quality care and services at retirement communities. She moved to Dallas in June of 1999 to become the director of retirement for a new community, Signature Pointe on the Lake. Under her direction, the community reached 100 percent occupancy in retirement and assisted living within a year.
Ms. VanGiesen received her Masters Degree in Gerontology from Webster University in St. Louis, Missouri. She began her career consulting on aging awareness, and was twice a presenter at the Governor's Conference on Aging. In 1991, she began teaching sophomore medical students at St. Louis University Medical School and was a professor for seven years.

The Legacy at Willow Bend, which will be the only life care retirement community in Collin County when it opens in early Spring 2008. The Legacy at Willow Bend is now under construction in Plano on a 28-acre site at Spring Creek Parkway between Preston Road and Ohio Drive.
